ARE YOU VOTE READY?
COVID-19, the death of George Floyd, and the subsequent protests have reshaped the focus of the presidential race. Racism and police reform will be on the minds of voters as they go to the polls to vote. By now, Ohio Unity Coalition partners and other community civic groups would be on the streets handing out flyers and knocking on doors to register new voters and turning them out to vote for the crucial Nov. 3 elections. In Ohio, we want voters to be safe, so we are encouraging you to use the links on this page to get ready to vote.
Voters can check their registration status by clicking here or use the AM I REGISTERED button at the top of the page. You don’t have to wait for someone to ask you to register or if you need to update your voter registration, you can register or can make changes online here.
OHIO HAS NO EXCUSE ABSENTEE VOTING
You can request your absentee ballot HERE. Ohio has no-excuse absentee voting. That means anyone can request and receive an application to vote during the absentee voting period. You have several options to vote absentee.
Vote by Mail. Absentee ballot applications must be received 3 days before Election Day. The cutoff for the November 2020 election is Saturday, October 31, 2020, but we recommend you mail or drop off your application request no later than October 20, 2020, at the local board of elections. No excuse is required to vote absentee in Ohio. Find out more about absentee voting here.
In-person Absentee and Early Voting. Ohio offers in-person absentee voting at the local County Board of Elections or a designated early voting location. In-person absentee voting begins October 6, 2020, 35 days before Election Day at the local board of Elections or a designated early vote location and ends Monday, November 2, 2020, at 2 pm the Monday before Election Day.
ELECTION DAY voting. Even though there is a pandemic, Ohio will have in-person voting. On Election Day, you can vote at your neighborhood polling location. Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. eastern time. CLICK HERE to find your polling location.
If you vote in person on Election Day, you will need an ID to vote. All voters must bring acceptable identification to the polls on Election Day in order to verify identity. To vote in Ohio at the polls on Election Day, you must show either your Ohio driver’s license or state identification card. If you don’t have either, you can present other forms of valid identification. Acceptable IDs includes current and valid photo identification, either an unexpired Ohio Driver License, State ID card, military identification; or a copy of a current utility bill Including a cell phone bill (within the last 12 months), copy of a bank statement, a government check, paycheck, or other government documents, other than a voter registration acknowledgment notification mailed by the board of elections, that shows the voter’s name and current address.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, drivers licenses or state identification cards that expired March 19, 2020, or after, are automatically extended and remain valid through the November 3, 2020, General Election.

If you do not have any of the above forms of identification, you can provide the last four digits of your Social Security number and cast a provisional ballot. BUT in order for your ballot to be counted, you must return with approved ID within seven (7) days to have the provisional ballot counted.
